VIENNA – Seven national environmental experts from Uzbekistan are taking part in the study tour to Vienna to learn how environmental information systems are implemented in the EU Member States, and how similar systems can be further developed in Uzbekistan.
ALMATY - The 9th Central Asian Leadership Programme on Environment and Sustainable Development (CALP) was launched in Almaty on 17 September 2018. During one week, 32 young specialists from Central Asia and Afghanistan passed a course on ecology, environmental management, regional cooperation and leadership.
The 9th CALP was conducted by the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia in cooperation with UNEP and with the support of USAID, World Bank, the European Union, OSCE, UNESCO and German-Kazakh University.
ALMATY – Representatives of the European Union, Central Asia, donor organisations and International Financial Institutions (IFIs) gathered for а regional workshop to exchange knowledge and experiences on environmental regulations and standards to facilitate the development of mature and bankable investment projects.
ALMATY, 12-13 July 2018 – For the first time the issues of transboundary water resources management were discussed by 10 Central Asian and neighboring countries during the regional meeting on strengthening intersectoral collaboration on water management and strengthening the role of water for sustainable development.
