Enhanced regional cooperation on Environment, Climate Change and Water

6th Meeting of the WGECC was held in Astana

The 6th meeting of the EU-Central Asia Working Group on Environment and Climate Change took place on 10-11 July 2017 in Astana in the Italian Pavilion of EXPO 2017. The meeting was organised by the EU-Central Asia Platform for Environment and Water Cooperation under the EU-Central Asia Strategy for A New Partnership. The Working Group is chaired by the Italian Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea as a lead coordinator.

About 90 participants participated in the meeting including representatives from the relevant Government Ministries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, EU Member States, European Commission, International Financial Institutions, Central Asia Regional Organisations, bi-lateral partners and International Organisations and representatives of NGOs and civil society.
